It's a writing course. For the midterm, you have to do a 4 page paper on your communicative skills in an academic environment, how you intend on improving it and whatever else. Your final is a 6 page research paper on a given topic.
The course is pretty useless, but you get a writing credit for it. I'm assuming you're in TechOne, so it's mandatory and there's not much else you can do about it.
It doesn't count as a science course! I am actually doing double whammy's with regard to that - as in taking classes that are both Q & S. I will be doing the EDUC211 or 212 or CHEM192... The reason I am not doing them this semester is I can't get my drivers license until November and I don't want to bus 2 hours up to Burnaby!
SO I am just finding downtown or surrey classes to avoid the commute. :) And preferably easy ones!
