SFU Surrey - Parking for the day?

edited August 2008 in General
I have a group meeting there tomorrow and we'll probably be there for most of the day. Any suggestions for parking for the day?

You can park near Zellars and then walk over. There's also a 5 level parking lot next to SFU Surrey with a 3 hours free parking limit. The 5th floor offers pay parking for visitors ($2 per hour I think).

However, if you exceed the 3 hours limit, you are at risk of getting a ticket ($45 dollars, and then increases to $90 if not paid within a time limit). The parking lot near SFU are patrolled by Diamond Parking, and they are very, very, very, very, very anal about it. I got $200+ worth of parking fines that I refuse to pay. They would mark your tire with a chalk and come back later. If you move your car by a few inches just to cover up the marking, you can easily get away with the 3 hours parking limit.

Your best bet is to take transit or car-pool. You can take the skytrain to Surrey Central and then walk over.

Oh, by the way, there are no way to waive your parking fines through SFU.

Park at Scott Road station and park at a spot where you think someone may have parked there because it charges on a daily basis rather than hourly. After that, use your U-Pass and skytrain it to Surrey Central.

If your scared of getting a ticket at Scott Road, just pay for a ticket..its like 2 bucks or something for the whole day.
