Getting into 3rd BUS Courses w/o Business Major

so i completed all of the lower division requirements and the WCB for Business last semester but i royally screwed up in BUS 251. so my CGPA is 2.84 and to get into Business you need 2.90. i am going to retake BUS 251 and take either one or two electives. so i am wondering what are my chances for getting into one or two 3rd yr business core courses, i think the first day possible is sept. 8th. also is there any point of applying to business right now with my 2.84, prolly not.

    I'm in the same position haha. My CGPA is 2.85 right now and I'm hoping the 2 courses this semester will push it a bit up. I'm thinking right now of doing 2 electives and 207 maybe or doing 3 electives.

    yea it sucks cause i don't want to do all my electives this semester cause i only need four more for the degree. also i might end up in same position next semester cause then will only give me admission into business after my grades have been released by which time registration is almost done.

    ocho you can maybe apply for condition acceptance of your major next semester then, youll be approved for bus major on the conditions your gpa is high enough, im not sure they will do this in bus though since its so competative but its worth a try

    It's not an exact science folks...they look at your transcript and try to determine if you will do well in Business so it's very subjective. If they see that one bad mark is dragging you down they probably won't see that as too much of a negative, everybody messes up once in a while. Apply, you have nothing to lose and if you don't get accepted keep trying.

    You should be able to get into one or two third year busines classes but keep in mind theres a lot of other ppl trying to do the same thing you're doing. The only advice I can give you is to try early in the mornings thats your best chance to beat the rush.

    I definitely suggest you talk to the advisors cuz they might give you special permission to take the courses you want for Fall. I was in the same position last week (finished all my lower levels but forgot to get admitted into BUS), but I had a higher GPA, so they let me take the courses I wanted with special permission. They also told me the early admit will be this week for students with GPAs 3.00 or higher, otherwise you have to wait till a week before classes start. However, if you go talk to them they might find a way around it.
