Advice needed (fall 08)

edited July 2008 in General
Hi everyone! Hope you guys are going well this semester, I'm having my summer break though.:teeth:

I will be on AP in fall 08 since I screwed up in Spring..so I need some advices from you guys. I am a Psychology major and I will be taking psyc 201 for sure, so I have to make sure that I wont get kicked out (of coz I know I have to study!!).

one of 2 courses left I am considering is Cmpt 120 or 165.
Some of my friends said they screwed up in the middle or in the final of Cmpt 165...so which one would you prefer? 120 or 165? I have taken a computer science course in college during my first yr, but that only counts for a CMPT 1xx
I am also considering IAT. It seems that not many people talk about IAT 100. It is a B-hum too. And anyone taken IAT 244 before? It is Digital Photography I. It seems interesting but I donno whether I should take it our not...

Any comment will be helpful, thanks a lot!

i wouldnt take any CMPT class then (unless thats your thing) those classes can be really easy or really bad depending on your teacher and level of experience, i heard some of the IAT classes are easy

Take CMPT 165 for an easy A+ if you want to boost your GPA to avoid getting kicked out. It's just some basic HTML, CSS and basic python.

CMPT 120 is more python programming. You actually have to work in this class unlike the other one.

Over half the people taking cmpt 165 already have html and/or some python background.

For the people like me who have 0 experience in both before taking the course, it's quite a bit of work and studying.

    i agree with shi2.

i got 100% on all of the html assignments, but this all required me taking a lot of studying than i did for any of my other courses.

once it hit python i was still getting 100%'s but i was pulling out my hair trying to figure out how to do things because Greg bakers DE book had so much shit that wasnt even relevant to the course and made me even more confused.

anyway, if you want an easy class, where you spend barely anytime studying cmpt 165 is not the course for you [depending on who teaches it] my friend was in ann lavergne's DE Class and she got an A while I got a B- in Greg Bakers

I gonna take it wif Lavergne or Khangura if there is still room available.

By the way, how about ling 110 and crim 101? Are they good courses too??? thx

crim101 is a lot of rote memorization, but fairly easy.

Well if you took a computer course (Info Tech) in High School, you should learn some basic HTML and some very basic programming.
