Group Job Interviews.. help!

Hi,

I have a job interview at Guess tomorrow....

But it's a group interview......

I've only had 2 group interviews before and they didn't go so well. I'm pretty shy.. Other people are always so talkative and everything and I always feel like a fool. :tongue:

So yeah... can anyone give me any tips of group interviews or interviews in general?

    i used to work for guess, and luckily when i had an interview, it was just me and this other guy, and we both got the job.

    anyways, u cant be shy when ur in group interviews, as well, with a group, ur gonna have to be unique and ur answers have to stand out. however, dont talk too much, cause then ur just plain annoying haha.

    after the interview, if they tell u to stay, theyll make u take a phone interview...answering questions on the phone. by this time, ur almost garanteed the job, after they check ur references.

    If you are shy why do you want to work at a retail store? You have to be able to approach people and be talkative because that is the type of people they are looking for. So my tip (if you really want the job) would be to forget about the shyness and go in there knowing that you have nothing to lose. Show your personality a little bit and smile and make a joke...thats all it really takes

    There may be numerous reasons... Im shy and every job I've held within the last 2 yrs have all be sales positions :embarassed:

    Anyway... tip for Tinana... just dont get bogged up being nervous, relax, and like guess4life says

    Thanks for everyone's comments. An update of how my interview went...



    group interview went REALLY WELL in my opinion.

    the manager told me to come back to do this phone interview/survey thing that determines ur honesty.

    so i did. it went well at first, but then got really boring. same questions over and over about stealing, cheating, fraud...

    after 10 min, i was half-listening to the questions. by 15 min, i didn't bother listening to the whole question. i just responded.

    so.... USUALLY, the options are, press 1 = yes, press 2 = no... BUT, in some questions that aren't yes/no questions, 1 = never, 2 = few times, 3 = many times.

    so the question was like "in the last 5 years, have many things have you stolen?" i didn't bother bother listening, i pressed 2 because i thought it was a yes/no question. BUT OMG. i realized, it wasn't. and 2 this time meant "a few times".

    seriously.

    i have NEVER stolen ANYTHING in my freaking life.

    :'( stupid phone. stupid finger. ARGH. i'm so careless. should've listened to the question....

    now i'm screwed.

    the manager said he'll call me back for a 2nd interview... i really hope he actually does so i can explain....

    but... don't know if he will anymore. :'(

    i want to kick myself in the ass right now....

    T.T omg... hahaha, wat are the chances that i will get hired now? :S

    maybe they'll think ur honest about ur "confession" and give u a second chance? lol

    i hope so hahaha.
    i am so worried.

    i wanna call Guess and tell them what happened.
    but that makes me look really desperate.

    lol those tests are so crap.. its all bs, but they do need to see perfect scores, so u may be outta luck, cause its an easy screening test they use :x
