University Policy. Is it ingrained in stone?
Here's my story:
*Winter semester*
I am an sfu student on a letter of permission to take courses at douglas college. In one course (calc), I recieved a C-. On the letter of permission it states that a C is required for the courses to transfer back to SFU. This worried me so I called SFU business advising and asked them to elaborate on the policy, and the woman said, "OH, well that's a cumulative mark! Don't you worry about that if you have a cumulative mark above a C." I thought, great, i have a B+ average so everything will work out.
I just tried to get my courses transferred back to SFU and that calc course didnt transfer. I spoke to advising and they said, "well, it's the policy. We can't really deviate from it." I asked them if there is anyone who has the power to make this exception, seeing that the difference between a C and a C- isn't a huge deal. They havnt really gotten back to me yet.

Have any of you had a similar experience? Any recommendations on who I can talk to about this issue?
I just wish SFU staff were better informed..
Thanks
