edited June 2008 in General
So I got the email today for registration for the fall but apparently we are no longer (as of 1 September) allowed to pay our tuition via credit card... how else are we supposed to pay for our tuition?

And I'm July 25th at 9:30am. I always get late registration dates...my GPA is more than decent, 2nd year...I don't get it!

I got July 17....what is the first date of enrollment, of course, as usual I cant find anything on the sfu website

You can pay by bank transfer...I think credit card companies dont like us getting rewards?

    July 10.

    July 11th, wear it.

    Fifth year and counting, wut

Yeah my date is 18 July at 2:30. Earliest of my friends that I know of so far. I find that the earliest dates are usually two weeks before mine.

But the reason I have to pay online via go.sfu is that I need all these proofs of payment, proof my account is at zero, proof of what what needed to be paid, account activities, blah blah blah, for the people who pay my tuition.

I believe the reason we cannot pay via credit card anymore is because the CC companies charge the school a percent fee for using the credit card with them, thus the school loses money.

Its weird how schools would introduce and then get rid of CC payment within a period of a few years...I was getting 200 airmiles per tuition payment

I wonder if this is a result of the budget cut?

I got July 18, at 8:30AM. It seems to be somewhat of an improvement from last year, because I am now registering on the end of week 2 instead of nearing the end of week 3.

By the way, Morro, I think the first day of registation maybe July 7. If my estimation is right, July 7-11 would be week 1, July 14-18 would be week 2, and so on.

Jaydub, we can still pay our tuition fees by cheque. As for admission deposit, we can still pay with credit cards until September 1, right?

can we just put like 2 grand via credit card on our goSFU accounts with a credit card b4 sept 1?
....and my registration is on July 28 :|

    july 14th
    130
with a smooth 2.45 gpa. lol

    Damn, July 23rd.

Again this only helps back my hypothesis that the more credit hours you have, the earlier you are.
  • edited June 2008
Of course its by credits... or people like triple would never graduate by virtue of never being able to get the upper level courses

What is the link between credit card payment of fees and low budget?

Is it the risk from fraud? I didn't think using credit cards cost the university money otherwise, can someone elaborate
  • edited June 2008
dont they have to pay like 1% of all transactions to the credit company? or 2% i duno, lol

    July 28th

How does sfu determine the dates? I always get the worst possible dates and my GPA is decent (above 3.0).
