SFU Business vs. UBC Commerce
First of all, I'm not here to start a flame thread. I was planning of going to SFU Business, but recently, UBC just admitted me into their Sauders program. The scholarships are similar. I live very close to SFU but, I can still manage to get to UBC. I'm struggling to decide which university to go to.
For people who are in Business, how would you rate SFU's program? Anyone know anything about UBC's? I need an answer soon, because UBC's deadline to accept their offer is in a few weeks.

But I don't care about what school is better and so on, haha.
The unfortunate thing is that, unlike cars, critics can't take either UBC or SFU out for a test drive and see the pros and cons of either school.
Oh look, the cest pool known as Discovery Vancouver forum has the exact same debate.
University of British Columbia has without-a-doubt a much better reputation than Simon Fraser University. One of the reason is UBC's age, they are almost 100 years old while we barely passed 50. Also, UBC got some world class faculty while we embarassed ourselves by pissing off a world class faculty. Another reason is that UBC is A LOT more well known than SFU. For example, I was chatting with my cousin's friend in Toronto and they don't even know that SFU is a university. Also personally, SFU is becoming the new Langara due to our joke admission requirement.
In conclusion, please go to UBC.
But seriously? SFU has a great Business Co-op program. UBC's co-op has 'under the table' fees you can't get tax returns on.
If you ask me, I'd rather go to SFU, you'll need the extra sleep, trust me.
And it's fucking low. I failed 2 courses in grade 12, and I still got into Business. It's not a very difficult faculty to get in.
I would choose SFU if you live close to the campus... trust me, you're going to get tired of commuting for 2 hours everyday very quickly. It'd be all right if you get a seat on the 99, but during peak hours you might find yourself standing on the bus for 40 minutes--no studying, no sleeping... just standing there wasting time. A lot of their exams are scheduled in the evening outside of lecture time too...
I dunno. Am I the only person here who doesn't hate SFU?!
Enough said.
But if you're going to work somewhere else... maybe.
