RIP Luc Bourdon #28

edited May 2008 in General
Rest in piece to a great NHL hopeful, and a great Canucks hopeful. Too early have you been taken from us. He was the Canucks tenth pick of their first round draft, and had only played 27 games.

He died in a Motorcycle crash at about 12:30 today in his hometown in New Brunswick.

You will be missed Luc, rest in piece.

I was in shock when I read it on TSN this morning.
Great guy. He also seriously hurt my arm in February. I forgive you, buddy.

Man, there are a lot of people pretending they knew who this guy was, now that he's dead. Everyone wants to pretend to be devastated. Wierd impulse. I know at least one girl who I KNOW didn't know who the hell he was, who's now pretending that she's all upset.

Ah well. The name rings a bell, and I probably could have told you that he was a hockey player, but I didn't know anything about him.

Only reason why I know so much about him is that the Sens could have picked him instead of Brian Lee.... (Brian lee 9th overall)

otherwise he'd just be some defenceman i've never heard much about... like Edler

its just weird since he's the same age as me... i could die any second now

    I've found that as well.

I went to Dice and Ice this year, so that's really the only reason why I know a little bit about him personally.

That pretty much sums up the kind of person he was!

I guess because the whole Canucks culture is so embedded within our (Vancouver) culture, people tends to feel some sort of remorse when this happens or that someone so young, with so much potential could lose it all so suddenly.

He has a little memorial by GM Place. I went to go drop off flowers today. Some very cute notes!
