PHYSICS 101 Question

I took physics 12 in highschool and was wondering how much more advanced physics 101 is. Does the course involve the use of calculus or is it strictly algebra based? Are students required to complete labs?

If anybody has taken the course before and can answer these questions and possible give some additional feedback on the course I'd greatly appreciate it.

    No to the labs and how good at physics were you in grade 12? I took physics 12 and got a B (80ish%) and right now im stuggleing through physics 101. It definatley is a HUGE jump from physics 12. Some midterms he has not allowed the use of calculators and homework/exams are based 99% on theory(algebra). One thing you'll learn for sure if you take the class is to just write and not think...

    Ummm, I took physics 101 and it seemed exactly like Physics 12 to me. I struggled a bit due to the speed at which they teach you, but in all honestly I didnt go to class much because it was stuff I had already learned. Physics 102 (which you will also have to complete) is a bit tougher in my opinion, because I have never been good at circuits and magnetism but I got through it fine.

    Phys 101 is noncalculus, too. If you think it's difficult, try Phys 120 or 125!

    Thanks guys, I appreciate your input. I don't think physics 101 is for me, since I only got a C+ overall. I was hoping that the course would be a refresher of phsyics 12, but I guess it's not. And since math isn't extra my strong suit either, I doubt that I would be able to handle the class seeing as your not allowed to use calculators during your exams.

    Do PHYS 100 then, and get your physics up to snuff.

    I found 102 alot easier than 101.

    Physics 101 is Physics 12.
