Iron Man

edited May 2008 in General
I just got back from watching Iron Man in Richmond's Riverport in and the movie is absolutely awesome.

I have watched quite a bit of comic movies and I enjoy this one the most. For one, I have been following Iron Man comics since 2006 and two, Iron Man, even though he was partly responsible for Captain America's death, is one of my favorite comic book characters. The Special Effects of this movie is fantastic and the acting is superb.

Of all the comic movies I watched, I enjoyed the story of Iron Man the most. It touched on many real world issues regarding arms development and the developer's responsibility. There are quite a bit of funny moments in the movie as well. To all the hardcore fans out there, this movie has quite a bit of references and foreshadowing too. I am not going to spoil it for you guys, however you need some good Iron Man knowledge to understand the references.

The comic book geek within me was extremely satified and I totally recommend anyone to go and watch the movie.

I give Iron Man 9.0/10. Out of all the comic book movies that I've watched, this movie has got to be in the top 3 along with Batman Begins and Spiderman.

While Iron Man is no Transformers (Transformers is utter filth by the way), I do think it's somewhat overrated. The movie doesn't blow, it's just that it isn't exceptional. Without a doubt, the best comic-book movie is still Sin City, check that out if you haven't already.

Interesting thing I noticed in the demography of the audience. I notice a lot of senior people/ baby boomers in the audience. I am guessing that they were the old Iron Man fans who started reading Iron Man in the 60s.

My only complain is that there are just not as enough fights and villans trashing the city as expected out of a comic book movie.

Just saw it. It was good. I think his change in personality could have been a little less abrupt, a little more explored. And more Iron Man would have been nice. But still, good. Top 3 comic movies, I'd say.

Also, I don't count Sin City as a comic movie, really. To me, comic movie implies a super-hero.

I'm really looking forward to number 2, when they don't have to do all the setup, and they can just jump right into it.

No wait, people are actually going to see this movie??

It looks awful, and the dialogue looks dreadful.

There are just so much in the Iron Man mytho that it is impossible to cram everything into one movie. Next movie will probably deal with War Machine, Tony's alcoholism, and hopefully Mandarin.

No arguing there. It is one of the best comic book movies along with Batman Begins.

Awesome movie, I ended up watching it while I was in Calgary last week...we couldn't stop talking about it aftewards. Even though I haven't read the comics, the movie had a great storyline, and a good combination of humor and action. Robert Downey Jr. was absolutely perfect for the part...I wish he had hooked up with Pepperpots lol

    How's this for foreshadowing:
