Pursuing your dreams

edited May 2008 in General
Do any of you that have dreams that you would like to pursue, but you are in school cuz you know that will probably help you in securing a realistic career?

What are your dreams?

Would you ever drop out of school to pursue it or pursue it after your degree is done?

My main goal in life is honestly to become rich lol. Without money, theres always going to be a limit to everything u do. I have no idea y im doin a bsc rite now and if any option of me becoming filth rich opened up, i would be out of sfu without a second thought.

id try and see if i could carry on the modeling i did for VMH when i was 18 even though i think im too old now for the modeling world and that agency

i almost dropped out of school last year to move with my ex to london but instead i stayed here, if anything i would like to be there doing something creative

My ultimate life goal is to be happy in my personal life. My #1 priority is to be married and have children (in a positive environment). I lovelovelove kids, and I can't wait to have my own. If I had a #2 priority though, it would be to have a successful career, which is where SFU comes in along with determination. But that aspect is definitely second in my life.

in all honesty, I don't really have a specific career dream. Just general things like what the people above have said ($ + family/kids) and hopefully SFU can help me get somewhere near that.

    1) $1M salary (in progress)
    2) get married (in progress)
    3) get own home (already purchased)

I'll drop out when I hit about $150K. I absolutely hate school right now. It was cool for the first two years or so, when I was still looking forward to all the cool classes I was gonna get to take, but then.... I realized there aren't any, and I still have two effing years left. And a BSc is pretty useless if I start my own business anyway. It's really only a backup plan...........

Ultimate goal is to be ballin', obviously.

I would really like to go to culinary school and become a pastry chef. I might actually do that if law school is not the way to go for me, especially since it's so competitive and I don't really know what I want to do currently. But I should know by the time I get my degree.

i don't have 'dreams' but i guess the closest thing to it would be moving to mars, the next closest thing to it would be helping to make sure we (as in humanity) don't kill ourselves before we accomplish the former, and this I am pursuing right now.

    Hmm interesting posts.

For me, ive always wanted to go to acting school. I know, kinda dumb, but i really love acting, always have.

But the school i want to go to is wayyyy too expensive (although my parents said they would find a way to pay for it), its a 3-year program (which is stupid because after i do all the applying for it, auditioning, and finally complete it, i'd be 27 years old or so), and its in london (no downfall to that cuz i love london, but i cant live there permanently and my bf wouldnt be able to come there....which most likely equals breaking up, which i dont want).

Just far fetched dreams i guess. I just dont want to regret anything when im older, as i already regret not doing things in my past.

Whoa creepy. Same goes for me, minus the fancy cars (except the Golf, boy do I love that car).

Also, it's very common to clock in 80+ hours working in the gaming industry. It's what they call "crunch time".
