Anyone taking arch 131 withCollard?
If you are not, don't ever take this course!!!
He has a ridiculous expectation on students, like he wants us swallow the whole book!! and the fuc*in accumulative exam!!!
The followings are what he expects in the final
Notes
1. When revising, please bear in mind that critical thinking is integral to academic work at the university level. It is not optional. So, even when questions do not explicitly state that critical thinking is required, you need to display it in order to get good a grade. Please also bear in mind that critical thinking is not simply expressing your own opinion. Expressing your own opinion is part of it but (a) your opinion needs to be backed up with evidence, and (b) there are other things that come under the ‘critical thinking’ rubric. For example, highlighting evidence from other sources that is inconsistent with the claims made by an author is considered to be critical thinking. Another element of critical thinking is coming up with studies that could be carried out to test the hypothesis being put forward by a researcher. So, critical thinking is actually a cluster of activities.
2. To be awarded maximum points an essay must exhibit the following characteristics:
a. Sustained display of critical thinking and analytical ability.
b. Interdisciplinary synthesis showing breadth of awareness.
c. Independence of thought and originality.
d. Excellent knowledge of primary literature (i.e. going well beyond the textbooks).
e. Arguments organised by topics, not by papers.
f. Theories and hypotheses properly attributed.
g. No significant errors.
h. Well organised (i.e. a clear structure with introduction and conclusion), well written and
well presented.
3. You do not need to provide bibliographies in your exam essays, but you should try to provide intext citations (e.g. “Javan Homo erectus remains are poorly dated (Lewin and Foley)”.
Nuts!!!

However, taking a course with her gives you something to brag about. After all, I think she is a member of the Order of Canada and world renown for her research in Orangutan. Hell, I got a bloodied nose from that course with a smile.
Today is the final exam...he gave us 8 questions in advance and he put 3 of them(we dont know which 3 though) in the final. He expected u write 1 hr for a question. Wtf!!! Maybe this course should be assigned as B-hum...I think I will fail and I plan taking cmpt 165 in fall for my Breadth....I admit I am not a hardworking one but this fuc*in course is really too much
