Solar thermal energy (concentrated solar power)

edited April 2008 in General
Do you believe this guy when he says "it will deliver more power every year this century than coal with carbon capture and storage -- for much less money and with far less environmental damage."

Do you think solar energy is a viable source to fix our environmental issues?

lol, i doubt this is gunna happen in the near future. If this even works and is exploited fully, all the oil companies wud go out of business. I dont think world leaders are truly gunna make clean electricity our primary source of power until oil reserves all around the world are sucked dry. I dont really have anything to back up what im sayin, just my opinion, but i think most ppl wud agree. Have u watch who killed the electric car? ,or wtvr that movies called, shows how money-hungry big corporations are.

Neone know wut geo-thermal energy is tho? i invested in an apartment in that new tower thats being built in Surrey Central and it has geothermal heating and fibre optic cabling or sumthing. Apparently its supposed to be 1 of the most technological buildings of its sort in western Canada. Im so glad i looked into it because it has potential for major profits lol woohoo for me.
    (dont mean to brag lol)

theoretically we could harness the energy from the sun, which is a lot more than what we can get on earth, but we're not quite there in practise yet.
