well the price i quoted is what i pay @ my Mazda dealer ya u can opt for better oils and/or have it done more often... personally if Mazda thinks 8000km/5months is when it needs to be done then that’s when ill do it after all if it fucks up cuz of that well that’s where warranty kicks in :)
on my other car tho i do it ever 3000km/3months using synthetic again it all depends on the oil
Right now I'm still indecisive cuz Mazda is obviously the better car, however, it's not a LOT better than the Civic, but I'm thinking it will cost more for maintenance, repair, and gas... I'm wondering if getting the Civic will be enough for my needs.
But if all of that's not significantly more than the costs for the Civic, then I'm definitely buying the Mazda.
Maintanence, repair & gas are gunna be virtually the same cuz these two cars r the same size and both run on small engines. What u shud check out is the actual prices at the dealer...Im pretty sure u dont want a basic model n wanna add on things like power doors/locks, air cond. etc., and as far as Honda/Mazda goes, i dunno wut the prices are for add-on options. So it wud be best to check them out in person. Dont account for small things like maintenance/ future costs, look for the car u like now so u wont regret it after.
well u can do the math on the "savings" for gas/maint. but ull find it will take something like 10 years to make em equal so might as well get the better car ;) rather than try and save a few cents every month...
repairs.. since their both new cars, if something should break, ull have the basic 3year ~50000 km warranty which i believe is standard on most cars these days, if u want more both honda and mazda should have a 5year 100 000 warranty but again keep in mind these cars are made in an age where we got some pretty accurate machines thus to very high standards, the odds of components breaking is quite slim i mean ya every now and then someone gets a lemon but the dealer will most likely fix em under warranty..
oh and remember on new cars these days the breakin period for the engine is 500-1000km and the old school rules do not apply anymore so drive it like u stole it :p
and the possibility of thieves trying to get into your 3 because of a manufacturing default that leaves your car unlocked with a simple impact to your door handle(above or below). The result:
1) car unlocks, and your possessions are stolen or the vehicle itself is stolen 2) thieves can't break in, but leave a big nasty dent in your driver side door.
^ i already mentioned that in the other page.... (your 1 is not really possible anymore)
and might i add anyone could break into any car... be it mazda, honda, toyota w/e
oh and one more thing, ive had my mazda3 broke into(at sfu) before and it was the good ol fashion screwdriver to the lock cylinder method which works on any car ;)
Corolla is probably one of the ugliest cars in its class, but it is getting better after the 08 models, and i would never buy a honda. I hate how ppl never buy domestic, everyone buys a japanese car. How bout supporting the North American economy (which is a joke at the moment) instead of buying imports just because of cheap parts. Ppl act as if North American cars are of the worst quality, especially concerning ford. Ford arguably makes the best pickups and has decent cars/suvs too. Most of Ford's cars are just cheaper versions of the more expensive lincoln. Im not a big ford fan or anything, just sayin u shud buy domestic. Another thing i dont get is why ppl buy foreign suv's/cuv's. If its not obvious domestic suv's are superior, than u are an idiot. Like, why in the hell would you buy the FJ cruiser. I don't care if it was based on the classic design or if you do a lot of offroading. I'm repulsed everytime I see that thing on the road.
Domestic cars are poorly built. Why continue to pay for crap? Look at Ford for example. The cars that are marketed here in NA are vastly different than the ones in Europe. The Ford Focus marketed in NA is ugly, while the ones in Europe are much, much better. My friend drives a Ford truck and the interiors don't even fit properly. Gaps here and there with cheap quality materials. Besides, many of these foreign cars are made here in North America, so either way, we're still stimulating the economy.
Also, while Mazda is owned by Ford, their cars are built and assembled in Japan.

Cant say that bout the new focus dude, that thing has bang for its buck (not sure if that makes sense but wtvr lol), but ya, im sayin Ford has stepped their game up seriously in the last 2-3 years. I get wut ur sayin bout the interiors but thats a thing of the past, i notice that too wen looking for a car a couple years back (Fusion lol). North American cars are actually becoming competitors in the market now tho, which is y im sayin ppl shoud lean towards the domestic side of things. Also, when considering ne type of "truck", please go domestic lol, dont go and buy a Honda Element. Most of these foreign companies have production facilities here, but the money usually ends up in the pocket of the company based in Japan, Korea etc. Ya we do get jobs and stuff, but come on, our economy runs off big industries/ companies.

the focus i drove today definitely pulled, but the rear design was slaughtered.
the interiors of the Escape, Expedition have been done very nicely.
Even the new Taurus 500 i was in felt like luxury.
