Cultural thing? or just because I live in Surrey

Well before I go to school i go to a gym here in Surrey. And when I'm showering (thank god i wear something on my feet otherwise I wouldn't do it, lol), about 75% of the East Indian guys in there do that nose blowing thing (Cover one nostril, blow snot out the other onto the ground).

Is it just because the ratio of brown to white is so much higher, so i never see white guys do it?
or is it some cultural thing.

its friggin disgusting, is it seriously that hard to blow your nose with something else instead of letting other people step on it, lol

and why pick the shower next to me, when im the only one in there and theres ten other ones to pick?! Am I that good looking?! I don't think so, guess my penis is huge or something, lol

anyways, more of a rant i guess, but still, cammmmmmmmman, blow your damn nose with paper before you enter the shower, lol

    hahah..im brown and i live in surrey..never done that in my life.
    im pretty sure its just the older generation that immigrated from india that do it. I guess it seems acceptable to them.
    Ya but i was born here and ive never seen anyone around my age do it.

    Very mature response there buddy...lazyGUY is pretty much right...where the older generation comes from, it's not as much of a "civilized" place as here, so they bring some of their bad habits with them. Not that it's ok, but sometimes you have to put up with things that old people do.

    its disgusting, spitting is disgusting in general unless its like blood or youve just thrown up

    spitting is just gross, if i see guys do that its a giant turn off and if i was with a guy who did it i would have a serious problem, itd be embarassing for me to be around someone who does that

    haha so if I'm walking beside you outside at SFU, and I just spit a bunch of blood right in front of you and it splatters on your feet, it's not gross? :P

    im talking in the context of like just getting punched in the face and you're spitting two of your teeth out along with some blood to avoid chocking on the jagged teeth....

    goes who spit or do that nose thing yuck yuck yuck, its polite to swallow, not spit

    some people can't help it though, what if they got Tourettes (spelling?), or a tic, or OCD. (For spitting anyways, I never heard of someone having a farmer john nose blow thingy as a tic)

    Blowing out through one nostril and spitting are common sights if you go to chinatown and look around for 10min. It's mainly the uneducated people who do that in my opinion.

    Well, to their defense, I guess it makes sense to do it in the shower and then there's no mess....?

    But in public, no, they should do it in their own private shower if they're gonna do it.
