bus 251 (fin accounting I)

edited March 2008 in General
Im planning on taking bus 251 this summer. Im taking courses at both douglas and sfu. Many students have told me accounting is much harder at sfu because grades are scaled and there are more asians there (lol :teeth: )

the catch is, douglas offers the 3 credit course in 2 sections, and sfu offers it in 1.

Just curious to know if those who have taken bus 251 found it okay, not too bad, fantastic?

Oh, and i definately prefer letters over numbers...

cheers

It was easy? lol. Well, to me. I got a B+ *shrugs*
The homework he gives you is all online (Wiley) and it makes you understand the material. Also prepares you for the exam, which is pretty straightforward.

It's really not hard... but then again I like doing math over writing essays, so *shrugs*

I took BUS 251 with Anne MacDonald and found it okay. It's not really hard but the material is kind of dry so it's hard to get through in that way... It's not really easy either. Some of my friends found it to be extremely hard. I'd say you don't really need math skills to do well in accounting, but you need to be logical and organized. If you end up taking the course, make sure you do as many practice questions as you can.
