NBA mvp

For those of you who follow the nba, please explain why Steve Nash has won mvp twice rather than Kobe. Kobe has been dominating the nba since the beginning of his career. He still managed to get 81 points in a game while surrounded by a below average team. On the other hand, Nash was surrounded by a pretty solid team and wasn't even close to Kobe's skill level. To me, Nash winning twice in a row was baffling. Watch the video and tell me he isn't the best all-round player.

woops.. ne one know how to move this to entertainment

he wasnt like that a few years back...would he REALLY have made that pass before??????????

He coulda easily dunked that ball in Harrington's face....EASILY..but he chose to pass.....there, he just pulled a Steve Nash.

That is exactly why Nash won it twice in a row...and i think Kobe finally deserves it this year....he is truly making his team better...and not just scoring on his own.

Before signing Steve Nash, the Suns did not have a winning record. Nash made the Suns better therefore he got the MVP award. On the other hand, the Lakers are now beginning to win consistently. When Shaq left the Lakers, Kobe and his team struggled.

we got a kobe lover here!!
I'm pretty sure Suns had a losing record when Nash was out, and they went from a crap team, to one of the best, whereas LA sucked until this year

Plus i dont think raping women give you any points for the MVP race.

After Shaq left the lakers started goin downhill so Kobe had nothing to play with for awhile, so he took advantage and started nettin 40,50,60 points a game... and hes been one of the top players since his career began..he used to pass alot more during the kobe-shaq era and thats why they won those championships. I'll admit that he does pass a lot more now than ever before but i still feel as if nash robbed him of the mvp title.

This year he has got to be the only contender for it. I mean he plays with an injured finger and still dunks it..amazing

So you're equating MVP with the "best player"? MVP itself is already pretty shady to determine...but it's generally the player who most elevates his team (and teammates) and wins. Dont say he dint have ANYONE after Shaq left, cuz thats total BS. He had Lamar Odom. He had Caron Butler. Just those two should have been enough for him NOT NEED TO SCORE 50 a game. You mean those 2 guys sucked? No...Kobe isn't really a willing passer...if you watch the games you'll know. He passes when he needs to. This is what ppl hold against him. That's why he hasnt won the MVP. People feel Steve Nash has completely elevated everyone around him, given them easy baskets, etc etc. The first year Nash won it, all the starters for the Suns had career years. Tell me that wasn't Nash.

I'm saying he'll win it this year cuz...ppl "say" he's long overdue, which is BS to me...but he's definitely in contention with Chris Paul...he's another guy who's totally vital to his team...and he's only got David West to work with.....you really think his 11+ assists only go to him? That guy can play...and he's so fun to watch too.

well ya i guess my opinions a little biased as ive always been a kobe fan, but seriously, i never said the lakers suked, im just sayin that they were on a downhill streak after shaq left. After all the team was built around kobe n shaq, like the suns was built around Nash. Take out the key players and u ruin the formula right. Nash is all about his passing game but you gotta admit that mvp isnt just about a team player. Being one of the best all-round players is always taken into account.

Like say Michael Jordon wasnt on the Bulls wen they won all those years. The team was stacked with the best players in the league and would still have won. The suns wouldn't have suffered as much without Nash compared to what the lakers would lose without Kobe.

Of course you gotta be good all around to be MVP...you're saying Nash cant score? Since going to Phoenix, he's scored 17+ per game on TWELVE shots (51%+ FG%)..there really isnt a knock on him...thats why he got it..twice. And you say the Suns dont suffer without Nash? That can't be farther than the truth. The Suns wer 29-53 in 2003-04 to 60-22 in 2004-05...because of the free agent signing of Nash. They ALREADY had Stoudemire, Marion, Joe Johnson, Leandro barbosa.

For sure the Lakers would SUCK without Kobe, but he's signed for a few more years...if he was to leave, it would probably be thru trade...and you bet the Lakers are going to get some all-star player back. So you can't really say the Lakers would suffer more. Yes, they sucked after Shaq left, but that only proves Shaq's worth.

lol clearly this argument isnt going newhere as im a kobe fan and ur a nash fan. I just hate the fact that so many ppl are "diehard" nash fans just cuz he was born here. ... and the suns arnt the team they used to be since they made the shaq trade. Is Steve Nash mvp material now that Marion n Banks are gone? exactly....

The point i'm trying to make is that kobe only lost the award beacuse of his shitty team.

Actually, I'm not a big Nash fan...I'm just arguing why he deserved it more than Kobe those years. And...more sports writers agreed, which is why Nash got it...and you say Kobe didn't get it cuz his team's record sucked. Well, that's one of the criteria...look at the history of the MVP. They were players on good teams at the time.

i'm gunning for CP3 this year...but i know he aint getting it. lol

ya he aint gettin it cuz its Kobes year for sure.

Look at Norwitzki (no idea how to spell his name)

Wasn't he the first MVP winner without averaging a double double since Carl Malone or w/e? lol
Mainly because their record was great.

And Phoenix is finally starting to come around with Shaq, but yeah they aren't as offensive it seems so Nash's stats will drop.
