I took CMNS 110 in Fall 2006 with Roman Onufrijchuk. I thought it was the worse course ever while I was taking it, but it was during my first year... in retrospect it's not that bad. If you are planning to major in CMNS, don't be intimidated by 110 and 130... the 200-level courses are MUCH better. Trust me.

If not... I wouldn't recommend the course if you aren't used to reading a lot... cuz there are about 2-3 readings every week. I wouldn't say the course is writing intensive though.

    Hope that helps =D

Edit: Sorry, I totally missed the distance ed part... I have no idea what DE is like for CMNS 110 ><

A friend of mine is taking it DE right now and it looks like the easiest course in the world...take home and open book exams? Puhleeeze.

I really don't enjoy 110 on campus though. I took 130 last semester and it was much more interesting.

I would recommend 235 with Gutstein though. Dry professor, but very good material.

DE is a joke. I took 110 on campus and it was the easiest thing in the world. I can only imagine how simple it is by DE.
