LOL, I love the conceit behind this video. "China: Savior of Tibet!" LOL!

Here's the thing: Photos may very well be taken out of context, which is dishonest and wrong. For instance, the photo of the soldiers draggin the guy. It is captioned as though the person is being arrested, but the video claims he was being dragged to safety away from the riots, being saved. Now, there's absolutely nothing in the video to substantiate that claim, but let's assume for a moment that it's true. This does not, wrong though it is, invalidate the overall point of the story, which is that the Chinese arrested protesters. Whether the photo is of this happening or not does not affect whether or not it happened. The creator of this video seems to think that if that particular man was being helped, then the story as a whole is wrong.

In fact, photos are often used to illustrate a point, when the reality of the photo was quite different. For instance, the use of "stock photos"; you have a story about a little-league baseball game, but have no photos of it, so you just insert a photo of any old little-league game, and allow the audience to assumed that it's of that particular one. It's technically a bit dishonest, but it's not uncommon. And while it goes against the tennets of journalism, it doesn't substantiate the creator's argument, which seems to be that China did nothing wrong in Tibet.

    In all: bad vid.

The language in which the news is communicated through is always biased. I'm not sure how you consider a one word answer an intelligent remark.

Western Media has their own point of view such as that with non-Western media.

I really did not expect that there is some one who would think the conceit behind this video: "China: Savior of Tibet!" However, you somehow think that way.

Well, fake photos with subjective opinions can never be considered as news.

News shoud tell the truth about what is happening. If journalists are somehow banned or can not get reliabe source, they should not create one .

Did china do anything wrong in Tibet?

I have no idea, because I never live there before. did u?

when potestors started killing innocent people and making agressive damages, they were not simply potestors but criminals.
Western media just do not wanna admit that those violent protestors is the cause of this incident.

:teeth: It is so ironic that Dalai lama , the Nobel Peace Prize winner, owned many slaves back in the old days.

So if both are biased, why choose one over the other? Is there another reason?

I was talking bout the previous post too and wen i said "very intelligent" i was being sarcastic (which i understand is hard to see wen typed out).
And what ur sayin now makes no sense. I get that you prefer non-western because you are a non-western person, but why rule out news communicated in English because u think it is biased. Obviously every media outlet can convey this whole situation differently, but whatever source ur gettin ur news from is just as biased as any other source. If u are so keen on avoiding bias opinions, u shud watch for opinions from both sides of the spectrum.

    So in other words,

Western news + non-Western news + a bit of thinking = the truth

what is your point here? ?

Don't be stupid. Chinese news is not accurate , so does news from other countries.

Giant military ???? Compare to whom???? States? ? Russia?? France ???

I believe military spending is used not only for national defending but antisperation. Most other countries use military the same way.

It all depends on one's point of view. Tibet should promote the integrity of mainland china with their giant army. The seperation of Mainland China from Tibet should be prevented at all costs including war. Tibet's war with China is an internal domestic matter that is of no concern of any other country.

Westerners see the Tibet situation one way while non-westerners see it another.

Military Spending and the assets of naval, air, ground and space technologies is another measure of a nation's military.

The U.S. has 12 aircraft carriers, China has none. The U.S. has 20 stealth bombers, China has no stealth planes.
