Registration: What the F***

edited March 2008 in General
...my reg date still isnt up, I have 5 more days, and ALL, I mean EVERY course i wanted to enroll in is full. Okay im exaggerating, they just opened up quantitative research methods as of today.. WOO HOO! anyway EVERYTHING IS FULL! What the fudge, Im seriously pissed! My cgpa is over 3.0 and credits over 60 but because I'm a transfer student my reg date gets fudged right up.

I cant even take a full course load as it is. Hopefully once my reg date is up I can see if the advisor will put me in ANYTHING, i will take any upper div I can get into. I literally cant take anything, I want or need.

What other upper div courses can I take that have no pre reqs or ones most of us have taken in first year? Any suggestions

The advisor sent an email saying its not cause of late reg dates that a lot of us cant enroll, its the popularity of the courses...which I dont really get, cause either way if my date was sooner id have one of those spots

a lot of the pre-reqs you could get waived if your mark is good enough, talk to your adviser. summer classes are smaller in general, and less are offered, so i'm pretty sure a LOT of people are not taking all the courses they'd like to be taking. The course availability is a huge problem, it's recognized as such, and we'll see what senate comes up with to mitigate it. Most people's attentions are focused on the TA cuts right now though...

=( dear freakin god im going to be taking philosophy courses....i said never again

im not surprised theres less courses offered in the summer...im more surprised that ALL the courses i want are full besides the one that was just opened today...qualitative research methods...but i wouldnt be surprised if its full by the time my reg date comes around

Courses first go to those with zero credits, then to the varsity athletes and the scholarship students, finally it goes by number of credits you have. I have about 65 and my date is on the 25th but I am not registering for the summer.

I hate how they let athletes register before scholarship students. like wtf?

Yeah, the varsity have practise at certain times so they have to build their class schedules around their practises, it is not like they can take very many classes though so it is not much of a problem in my eyes.

My registration date was so long ago....like the 13th or something.

And you'd think it would be easier the more credits you have....but since the 4th year classes are really small, theres a lot of competition for them, so you're still sweating right up until your registration time wondering if you're gonna get your courses or not.

Thank god I got into my courses that I need to graduate.
