Will Smith's New Movie: I Am Legend

edited March 2008 in General
What do you guys think of Will Smith's new movie? I expected another good movie because, come on, it's Will Smith...but I just watched the trailer and it seems kind of lame. A virus that turns people into Zombies and now he has to run from them? Here check it out, see what you think:

I am Legend is one of the best novellas ever written. I love it.

Hollywood will rape it, unfortunately. I like Will Smith, but he just isn't this character. :(

i watched it. not as much action as i expected and theres some parts of the movie i didn't quite agree with.

    ****SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS ******

    1) when will smith first trapped the mutant from that really dark building ( when the dog ran in ) then the "leader" mutant exposed himself to SUNLIGHT in order to see what will smith had captured.
then when the leader mutant did the same thing and trapped will smith, then while will smith was crawling away, he sent the DOGS who were afraid of the sunlight, why didn't the leader mutant ( who had exposed himself to sunlight anways ) run through that little half a foot of sunlight himself to kill will smith?

Why would people turn into zombies in the first place. And why is there a refuge in the middle of nowhere that looks perfectly normal. Why didnt they listen to his radio announcements.

'I am Legend' is legendary itself. I personally LOVED this movie.

its because the amount of light that was still out would kill him. One of the magazines said "Dogs come out at dusk" or some crap like that while the zombie things have to wait till night. Yeah its kinda weak but thats the only thing I could think of

I bought the blu-ray and I must say, the alternate ending is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better than the theatrical ending

    What's it like?

Both endings are inferior to the book's but yes, why the HELL they didn't go with that is beyond me.

I mean, people liked No Country for Old Men. There's no need for them to assume we're all children, and need their ultra-happy stupid ending. People could have easily handled the better ending.
