I've heard some bad things about it. "MACM316 eats your children, Macm316 is a guaranteed fail, MACM316 is the hardest course in Compsci" etc.
Then again, I heard bad things about 201 too and it wasn't that hard. (except that the prof last semester was a little too enthusiastic about generating functions)

Anyways, apparently it's fine as long as you don't leave it till your last semester because you need some knowledge from other math courses like calculus II.

I am in that MACM 201 class this semester, although I have my doubts I will fail I don't think I will be getting an A.

As for Macm-316 I have heard nothing good about it and that you will be crying when you take it and that it should be your only class that semester.

The class is full of engineers and comp sci students.

    Easy A+ for math students.

    Ah, yes.. math students..

Stating that an engineer or a computing scientist cannot do math is like stating that a bird cannot fly or that fish cannot swim... it is just wrong.
  • What is the latest edition of book used for this course? Still using 8th edition of Burden and Faires?
  • it's up to 9th edition.
