This summer semester may be the best semester ever

I think Im going to take 4 distance ed courses and 1 class at harbour center so I can keep my Upass. Since I live downtown itll only be a 3 minute walk to school, and Ill have minimal contact with burnaby mountain. WOO HOO!

    that is not a best summer imo, a best summer involves no textbooks

    If you want your U-Pass so badly, why don't you just register for an on-campus class and drop it once your U-Pass arrives?

    isnt there financial penalities involved? Or dont they deactivate the pass or something...the rare occasion I have to insert the pass in the validator?

    Never thought of that, but classes at harbour center im not worried about

    This will work. You still need to pay the 100 dollar deposit, though. The U-Pass gets cancelled after a few months, but really, when was the last time you put your UPass through the reader? And even if you have to, they just assume it's demagnetized and let you on anyway. I did that a year or so ago.

    Ever had one of those really picky bus drivers that makes everyone scan through their UPasses?

    I always swipe through one of my old ones just to see the look on the driver's face when he "finally catches someone with a phony UPass", then pull out my new one and scan it through before he can kick me off the bus.

    I've also shown an old UPass to a skytrain cop who somehow managed to miss the fact that it was 3 months expired and the wrong colour.

    I'm probably going to take 1 class. Managerial Econ. Great fun.

    They can not deactivate your Upass. The system is not that sophisticated.

    They can and do. It takes months, usually more than half into the semester, but the readers will eventually start rejecting it. That is, if you have to put it through the reader.

    This summer will definitely be the best because its my last semester at SFU (assuming I dont want to do any more classes after im done for whatever reason). Yay for summer and yay for the end of summer!

    This is gonna be my last semester too! All i have left is 2 UD electives and one is distance ed...I'll be enjoying this summer!

    Summers at SFU are the best...fall and spring the weather sucks but in summer it's beautiful up here

    This in going to be my first summer in Vancouver, I usually go home and work a summer job...so it should be really nice!

    for those who is on there last summer at sfu.. congrats!
    I can't wait till my last day.. which is still a distance away....still at least 2 years ><
