Intercession & Co-op question
I tried looking on the SFU website but no luck.
Intercession: When does it start?
Does it start normally 2 weeks after the end of Spring semester? Or are there different start dates you can pick later on in the Summer?
And if you go on co-op one semester, do you have to be in school (take at least 1 course) the immediate semester after your co-op term ends?

Comments
the summer session starts a month and a half in, and goes until the 2nd week of aug.
I've taken a few intersession courses and have loved them. Honestly wish they would offer more.
I'm planning to do coop Spring 2009. But I want to go on vacation in June or May...
That means I needa take a semester right after my 4 month co-op =(
No vacation for me?
I know you're not allowed to graduate on a co-op term..and i can see how they would enforce that.........
SFU Co-operative Education Student Handbook 7
5.0 Academic Semester / Workterm Sequence
5.1 Program Continuity
Workterms normally begin in January, May and September each year. Once admitted into the SFU co-op
program students are expected to alternate workterms and study semesters and be registered as a full-
time student (at least 9 credits) during study semesters. As workterms should alternate with academic
semesters, students may not normally participate in the co-op process in consecutive summer
workterms. Engineering Science students should consult the Engineering Science Co-op Website for a
suggested academic semester/workterm schedule.
Students are expected to complete the minimum required number of workterms during their course of
studies at SFU. Normally, a student's final workterm must be completed before his or her last study
semester.
5.2 Eight-Month Workterms
Some employers and students undertake eight-month workterms. If a student accepts an eight-month
workterm (or extends a four month workterm into a second four month workterm), it counts as two co-op
terms and he or she must complete a separate registration and pay co-op fees for each semester.
Students must confirm with a co-op coordinator regarding submission of work reports, site visits, and
evaluations for eight-month workterms.

I guess it doesn't say anything about skipping a semester then going back to a study term...
