What type of shit are you trying say? Talk the talk.... but can you walk the walk?
What I'm saying isn't "shit " these are facts and it's better you hear it from me then going around trying to convince people they can get abs by jumping into 400 crunches a day. Your going to get someone hurt with that advice and only an idiot would train the same muscle everyday. They need rest to develop or your going to get hurt.
I can walk and talk just fine too bad I cant say the same about your talking.
i personally was refering to sit ups, although in retrospect i would have just done the bicycle exercise thing where you peddle your legs while on your back, which i do now in addition to cardio

I ain't convincing no one nor do I go around letting people hear it from me. This is from experience.

I didn't give advice and there are the few reasons and abilities to train the same muscle everyday. Physical pain I can endure.

and your the one that brought up abs, lol
I brought up the abs topic with someone else and why you balked has put me in a quandry.
I love how this thread went from hair dryers to high maintenance girls ;) It all depends on the type of day for me. Example, if I have a long day and I have to wake up early, I'm not going to wake up even earlier to do my make-up/hair. Usually that's what I consider to be a glasses day. On Wednesdays I only have one class (2:30pm), so I spend a little extra time on myself. It's not necessarily being uncomfortable without makeup, it's just nice to have one hour where all you're focused on is you. I used to wear a pretty substantial amount of make-up every day, but then I backpacked Europe and realized it was ridiculous how much time I spent each morning to look pretty much the same as I did when I woke up. So my makeup and I aren't best buds anymore.

I'm glad your not telling everyone that 400 sit ups a day is the way to go... well besides the people in this forum. You do realize that training your abs everyday can lead to overtraining and give you negative results among other things such as hernias. If you trained them half as much you would probably get better results because when your training your muscles isn't when they get bigger and more developed it's when your resting and eating properly.
Sorry but when I see people post stupid things, I have to respond :/
Triple, you're not going to get a hernia from crunches, unless you start holding weights on your chest. There simply isn't enough resistence to be had from the weight of your upper body.
That said, you're right that situps are useless when your body fat isn't quite low. There's no such thing as targetted weight-loss, and doing situps will do zero to shed fat from the midsection. First get in shape, then worry about situps, if you're interested in having a flat stomache.
BTW, to the girls, do NOT get super-crazy abs. Not sexy, at all. Flat, yes. Ripped, NO.

Yes you can and it happens very frequently. Too many people come into the gym looking for abs and they train them everyday and overdue it. Forget about weights on your chest you have gravity and gravity is enough to wreck any muscle in your body when your doing hundreds of the same motion everyday. and yeah, women with six-pack = not hot lol
Well, suddenly you've just become the professional reading all the material about ab workouts. Well, there are some things that the Interent doesn't state. You, yourself have to learn by doing it yourself and getting the results that best suites you. Never had a hernia and probably never will but you might since you know more about that I.
Respond? Respond to statements that weren't inferenced to you. Boy was I hurt that you replied.

I dont read information off the internet because most of it is wrong. I was taught everything I know from a friend who is a personal trainer several years ago. And I have applied it over the past few years and I know what works. Although I agree reading isn't the way to learn... just doing it yourself without knowing the proper way is very wrong, thats how you get hurt and get things like hernias. You may or may not get a hernia but yes your training could lead to a problem. And I don't know how knowing about hernias and training properly would lead me to get a hernia...maybe you can explain that.

it's ok to be hurt, no need to hide it.
I am not concerned about hernias because I don't have them, nor heard of them or will get them. If you know what works, why are you asking me if you know that I'm right. I've been training for a few years and I know the routine.
Hide what? If I was was hiding, I wouldn't be flaming you right now would I. Why doesn't the person involved in this discussion come out from hiding.

Ok, so you don't know what a hernia is and you train wrong but you will never get one? honestly this argument with you just gets more embarrassing every time you reply. Oh ok, I don't know what HIV is, I don't have it, so Ill never get it, hey i'll sleep with this chick who is part of an AIDS support group with no condom on, i know nothing about AIDS so i won't get it. Yeah, extreme example, but your an extreme idiot so I figured it would even out

I train correctly and get results. I consider myself athletic in terms of running endurance and strength training. My nutrient is good and so I have plans to look good by doing 400 reps of situps a week at least. I don't know why you bring up AIDS & HIV since this topic wasn't about condoms or sex in the first place.
The topic was about high maintenance and visual appeal because women spend time drying their hair and putting on cosmetics. There is a price to high maintenance to girls but what I added was guys also make themselves visually appealing as well. "High Maintenance" seems to be defined differently to different people and so a girl who spends $120 on a hairdryer is considered high maintenance. Correct me if I am wrong.
Makeup? I hope that makeup isn't like artifical cake frosting on a girl's face because that is not high maintenance. I think you are are referring to girls who take 2 hours to prepare for a date and not girls who look naturally good everyday. The women who can can just put on a pair of jeans, a t-shirt, a baseball cap with no make-up and still awe guys are what I consider high maintenance.
What about the effort on the guys part to do 400 sit-ups and intake supplements to get those ripped abs to show? Isn't that visually appealing to some girls? It takes 2 hours of motivation a day to get those set & reps down.
in case you didn't notice.. most make up nowadays have move onto more natural components.. so no it's not the "artificial cake frosting on a girl's face" that you so nicely put it... and it's not a date i was referring to either.. that's a totally different story.. it's just simple day to day looks that some girls can spend 2 hours on...
i've already stated what i considered to be high maintenance and obviously you and i have different opinions on this or that you didn't read my comment properly.. but why would a girl who looks naturally beautiful in jeans.. t-shirt and a baseball cap be high maintenance when she doesn't need to do anything to look beautiful?
not that i didn't take guys into consideration on this.. just that the society would never label a guy as "high maintenance" while the term is used so loosely on girls that i just argued for the girl's sake... but yes the visual appealing thing goes for guys too..

My idea of a high maintenance girl is one who expects a huge amount of money spent on her. But whether that girl is really worth that huge amount of money is a different matter.
Like that analogy with the car running on expensive fuel is an example of high maintenance. A porsche and a hyundai could both run on expensive fuel but one is worth the money while the other isn't.

How does a $120 hairdryer + makeup fit in all this?
