Valentine's Day

edited February 2008 in General
What are you guys planning to do for you SO on Valentine's Day? I'm planning to stay at the Pan Pacific Hotel with her for that day and we'll also have dinner. What are you guys planning to do?

I've also heard that restaurants charge a Valentine's day premium during that day from another forum. Is this true? I've never noticed it.

My boyfriend and I kind of have this tradition of celebrating Valentine's on the 15th. Sooo on Valentine's day I'll probably be at school and working. On the 15th, we'll probably just hang out...

Hmm... I haven't thought about it yet. Last year we didn't have a valentines day because I had night class and he had work.
But then again it's all business propaganda so it doesn't really matter lol.

Just don't fall asleep while inside her. They don't like that. They think it's, like, an insult or something.

    Women!

We were gonna go away for Valentine's Day and take a three day weekend, but the hotel didnt have a room with a king size bed AND a huge soaker tub....I really want both, so I said no to that idea. Plus, I just got a job so I cant really take a three day weekend.

Not sure what we're gonna do now. Havent really thought much into it. Im not very big on holidays. Ugh, I have to get him a gift and I have no idea what to get him.

    single is a good thing.

reasons i was single for a while

    1) relatively cheaper ( you can't deny that, any of you in a relationship)
    2) do whatever you feel like doing
    3) do #2 whenever you feel like doing

but i need to "change the oil" so i'm seeing someone right now haha.

Usually we just get a bottle of champagne and stay in.

    We don't exchange gifts.

Chinese New Year is exactly one week before Valentine's Day. So next Thursday, I'll be getting rich quite quickly from all the red packages (紅包) then spend it all on red roses (紅花) for Valentine's the following Thrusday.

Rats, what a double red Thursday I'm going to be having.

Valentine's Day is a day of massive loss financial buying power for the consumer. As we all know and love so-called HOLIDAYS, it is the marketing department of this university and many others that spews out these agents of love and perpetual poverty. From that you can see that we have no choice but to submit to Christian way of thinking of which half of you don't even know why there is a Valentine's Day or the initial cause of it. If you think about it, it was a bloody deadly mess with the Vatican. up one more Martyr; aptly name Valentino. Who sent and wrote love letters for various important people while in prison, until they took his head for ideas that were against his majesty and the Church (Vatican). I wonder if people are happy celebrating the death of another human being. Supposedly Christ was one of them. And then again we celebrate Christmas too. Death to the Christians (this must really look bad...just illustrating a point). Stop being mindless, material automatons and stop celebrating Valentine's Day to stop the marketing horde from taking over successive generations minds with shopping spree attitudes; like this is the end of the booty if you don't get your GF/BF a gift this February.

    Cheers.

while a few of those girls look pretty good, how bloody desperate does one have to be to bid on a date? Srsly
  • edited February 2008
    LOL @ the Auctionees!

Nice pic for Mateja....who the hell poses with their shirt off and with a cape on?? lolol!

Even if i was single (which im not), you couldnt pay ME enough money to go out with any of those people.
  • edited February 2008
"If Mateja isn't training as a Spartan warrior, he's probably at the Nucks game dancing on the jumbotron. He makes sure to stay beautiful by eating McDonalds....so come out to the auction and place your bids guys :)"

Omg, i sincerely hope he meant "girls" :/
    lolol

That was good for a laugh.

oh well if you haven't experienced the pleasures of a woman i don't suggest you follow what i said previously.

well the original plan for my girl and i is scrapped cause turns out she's allergic to grass..

original was a nice dinner at steveston, hit the theatres cause she's got an obsession with movies (plus, its relatively cheap haha) and then i was planning on presenting her just a small gift (not my pen-is you perverts) while we look over fraser river, and then things will go from there lol.

edit: whoa. jen and amie from the cac auction.
hey yvonne are you a part of the cac exec? i ask because how come people from last year don't show up again? bad experience? lol

i remember some old dude that was there bidding on girls.
  • edited February 2008
@nicole: Well, we can't force people and these were all volunteers. Can't ask for much.

@toast: What wrong with the Dating Auction? It's for charity.

@IVT: Not desperate, but all proceeds go to charity so you're technically not bidding for the girl / guy.

@baby_e: Maybe you should go up on stage next year, show off your talent and see how many people will bid on YOU! ^____^

@Eddie: Yep, I'm part of them execs. We try to get new people every year, because if the same ppl go up year after year, and do the same thing year after year, it's not very interesting. Plus, some of the grad etc, or find boyfriends / girlfriends ya know? And a lot of them DO have great experiences :)

There ARE some stalkers / creepy fellows that do bid...
I remember this guy that dropped $800 for Irene Bao ahaha. That guy was ballin'!!
