ENGL 102W vs. ENGL 104W
A couple weeks into this semester and I'm not so sure anymore if ENGL 104 (Intro to Prose Genres) is really my cup of tea. I find it to be more 'philosophical' than any other english classes I've taken before and I don't like philosophy. In fact, I got a pretty bad grade in philosophy.
Initially, I chose 104 because I didn't want to do Poetry (102), but right now I'm thinking I'd rather do that instead. I don't know
Poetry is via distance education and I've taken a few distance ed courses and fared pretty well in them, so that's not my issue. They are both writing intensive courses.
Has anyone taken both before and liked one class better than the other? There are 2 essays to be handed in for my current enrolled class, 104, and I assume there's more for 102 distance ed, right?
Poetry isn't exactly easy to me either, but out of the two listed, does one course seem to be easier than the other? This prose genres thing seems to be boring and hard, at least to me. I understand this may be an individual thing, too, but I'd appreciate some opinions, please?
Should I drop 104 and swap to 102? I didn't do so well last semester and can't risk to get a low grade this time, but an english course is REQUIRED, so...
Thanks.

I hated the course and I never paid attention in the class.. never did the readings. But I half-assed/last-minuted the essays and got a C- so I think you should just deal with it. Not a lot of work to do (at least with cramer)
and also it's past the drop date so yeah, you'll get WD notation and have to pay $100 like vonnie said.
English 105 I liked. I didn't love the material in fall 06 when I took it (first semester) as there too many poems, but I liked Coe who was the prof.. not the best but an interesting guy
