$300 for jeans? Isn't that arguably worse than boots? :P Beyonds my jerseys, I think the most expensive piece of clothing I own is a nice winter jacket that was originally in the mid 200s which I found at the clear out rack for quite the discount :)
what do you mean arguably? It is damn worse. WOW, I mean $300 bucks for the jeans that cost others only $30?
yeah i spend my extra money (which is maybe 50 bucks a month after bills) on electronics, hardly on clothes, so i got like 4 pairs of 50 dollar jeans that I just alternate through, haha
hey.. it's not like it's coming out of your pockets guys.. give me and my jeans a break!! =P i'm sure everyone has something they're willing to spend on (like danoobie's jerseys) ^_____________^
lol.. how much did you spend on them? and what sort of jerseys are they?
probably, haha. ill stick with my replica ottawa/columbus jerseys, too expensive otherwise, lol. plus getting a name on it, end up like 400 dollars, lol
I think part of the undercurrent of resentment I sense among people I talk to is because of the perception that a lot of Asian students are being heavily subsidized by their parents, show up to school in fancy cars with the newest clothes and have all the latest techno-gadgetry.
What I don't think is being seen is whether or not these students are heavily in debt as a result of having to spend money on all that stuff. Keeping up the insurance, gas etc on a car and having to spend a hundred bucks a month or more on clothes can get expensive fast.
i'm in the same boat as vonnie.. and quite proud of it actually even though i don't have the ability get my own place.. there are perks to that but independent doesn't mean you have to be living apart from your parents.. i pay my own bills.. tuition fee.. entertainment.. food and the textbooks.. to some degree that is being independent..
well on second thought.. maybe not as rich as vonnie.. i can't afford $300 boots.. o.O" but i am willing to pay that for jeans.. *blushes* hehehe.. =P
Yeah! I pay for all the same too, not to mention gas for the car when I use it (the family van). I'm still glad I live at home, but we're still independent! And haha, I save up and get what I want. I try to go to sample sales as much as possible to get those $300 jeans actually... for half the price =D That's the way to do it!!
@everyone else: My bf thinks I spend too much on clothing, but really, that's the only thing I spend on. Some ppl spend it on eating out, and just happen to spend it on clothes... Like more girls. :)
@siuying, you'd think so, but most people new to this (myself included when I just started) cant tell the difference between an authentic and a replica besides the WOW WTF AUTHENTICS ARE HOW MUCH?? Granted though, once you know, you know. Its like riding a bicycle or like, breathing. Its that easy. Yup Speaking of which, I just bought another one. I'm a sucker.
My friend's ex-gf is from Hong Kong. She lives in a big ass house by herself in North Van which has an ocean view and indoor sauna. She drives an Audi and is pretty damn generous with her parent's money. She's the least stingy girl I know.

I suspect the distinction between replica/authentics is lost on most ppls here though.

@danoobie: not at all.. the word itself is pretty self explanatory isn't it? =\

I shouldn't be allowed up at this hour either.
