Jamie Lynn Spears is pregnant

edited December 2007 in General
Have you guys heard of this? All i can say is LOL! Following in Brit's footsteps i guess.

She’s 16. She’s pregnant. And she’s cashing in!

“It was a shock for both of us, so unexpected,” Jamie Lynn Spears exlu$sively tells the new issue of OK! magazine about her surprise pregnancy. “I was in complete and total shock and so was he.”

He being her boyfriend, Casey Aldridge.

Little Jamie Lynn is 12 weeks pregnant and initially kept the news to herself when she learned of the pregnancy from an at-home test and subsequent doctor visit.

“As soon as I found out for sure from the doctor, I took two weeks to myself where I didn’t tell anybody,” she says. “Only one of my friends knew because I needed to work out what I would do for myself before I let anyone’s opinion affect my decision. Then I told my parents and my friends. I was scared, but I had to do what was right for me.”

Jamie Lynn told momma Spears, Lynne, just before Thanksgiving, the magazine reports.

“She was very upset because it wasn’t what she expected at all,” Spears says. “A week after, she had time to cope with it and became very supportive.”

Lynne Spears tells OK!: “I didn’t believe it because Jamie Lynn’s always been so conscientious. She’s never late for her curfew. I was in shock. I mean, this is my 16-year-old baby.”

What message does the sixteen year old Spears want to send to other teens about premarital sex?

“I definitely don’t think it’s something you should do; it’s better to wait,” she says. “But I can’t be judgmental because it’s a position I put myself in.”

Unlike Britney, Jamie Lynn says she plans to raise the accident baby in her home state of Louisiana — “so it can have a normal family life.”

The Zoey 101 star tells the mag, “I haven’t spoken to (Nickelodeon) personally, but they have always been so great to me over the past years and have given me so many opportunities.”

Seriously, doesn't anyone care that a 16 years old girl got pregnant? Back in high school, I have heard rumors of a lot of teenage moms in a neighboring high school. However, those were just rumors. Now, it is confirmed that a well-known 16 years old girl is pregnant, doesn't it bother anyone at all!

I am not bothered by the fact that she had pre-marital sex (which I am perfectly ok about), I am more bothered by how young she is.

Still, I am glad that she is open about her pregnancy and continue to refrain from any activities that may otherwise harm the child. Let's just hope the father will play his part.

No, I am refering to a high school from my hometown of Richmond, British Columbia.

Still, why are girls getting pregnant? Sure, I am ok with pre-marital safe sex. However, don't they know that a baby will be wth them for the rest of their lives? Also, shouldn't high school students be more worried about graduating from high school and getting good grades instead of being a mom?

at least she's attractive to an extent, what you'd call, jailbait.

the thing is the mom sold the story to the press to make money ( 1 mill? )

might as well make something out of the situation right? haha.

The ironic thing is that Mrs. Spears was going to release a book on parenting.

Richmond High Secondary has it too.

i went to school at Richmond high and there weren't a significant number of teenage mothers there, guess it was just back then.

shes rich so it shouldn't be a problem
only thing about young pregnancies that worry me are the parents being retarded and not doing anything right or having enough money to pay for things. but then that occurs at every age, so doesn't really matter, lol.

    i'd still hit it.

It really depends on if the father will be responsible as well and if she will learn from her sister's mistake.

I was actually thinking of Hugh Boyd Secondary...

She should be more concern about her physical wellbeing. She should be concerned about rather her body is ready for a baby.

It is teen pregnancy, what do you expect. We have problem paying for 4 years of SFU and we aren't even teens.

well the doctor would say if her body could handle it or not.
if it can't then have an abortion.

The publisher has delayed the release of the book indefinitely without giving a reason...but the announcment came a couple days after the press found out that Britney's sister was pregnant lol ironic indeed

I think her bf's 19, and supposedly they've been dating for a while so it may not be as big of a deal as everyones making it. They have the cash to support the family and obviously they don't work like normal folks, so their shouldn't be any negative effects on the child...and she's not cracked out like britney
  • edited December 2007
hmm.. britney cracked out after she had the babies.. let's hope it just doesn't run the family.. =)

but really.. did safe sex ever occurred in her mind? i could understand if an accident happened.. and you would go get the pill like a responsible person would do.. not just wait till some thing goes wrong before doing anything about it.. cause sometimes it's a little too late for that.. =\
  • edited December 2007
Sometimes, it doesnt matter if you're on the pill or what....it happens sometimes.

As for her body being able to handle it, didnt girls have babies at even earlier ages than that way back when? So i dont think that really matters all too much.

I just think its funny, but whats even funnier is that she'll prolly be a better mom than Britney is.

I'd like to voice an opinion for myself, and also for all those too apathetic to even post in this thread.

    I don't care. ... at all.

I didn't even know (or care) that britney spears had a sister until yesterday.
