What would happen if...
Quebec had succeeded? or split from Canada during that referendum they had 10+ years ago or so? I'm just curious what kind of effects it would have had on the country.

Would we still let the Montreal Canadians in the NHL? Would that make the NHL a multinational hockey league?
But at least we wouldn't have to have french on all our labels (that means we could get all the latest and greatest stuff without having to wait for them to come out with french labeling!)
New Brunswick is still a bilingual province and by having Quebec leave would not stop the french being on the labels of everything. And the bilingual labels does not prevent us from having the latest products.
I dont think it would have that much of an effect on rest of Canada? I've always had the idea that Quebec is pretty much good for nothing except to get the best government contracts.
In my messed up world, they're the awkward slacker in the family, 30 years old but always come home for a handout anytime hes out of cash.
On another note, did you ever realize how unique the Vancouver area is? We have such a diverse variety of cultures and religions here, and for the most part, there is no discrimination or hatred. When you look around in your classes, you see muslims, asians, africans, and all sorts of other ethnicities all brought together by a common desire to learn and be at peace with each other. I think that's amazing and we should feel lucky.
The best example of products available in the US but not in Canada due to French translation requirments is the latest guitar Hero game. It is available in the US, but not here, on account of the the french translation of the game packaging.
I wonder if we would share a currency or if they would make their own currency. With all sorts of French Canadian Heros. I wonder if they would still hang out in the British commonwealth? Ha, or allie themselves with France, just like the good old days!
The winters there are so pretty!
I would hate to live there tho. I used to have to go visit my grandparents there all the time and it was so cold.
