CMPT 120 is intended for those without programming experience.
I (and some others, apparently) went into it with some previous experience, and found the class horribly slow-paced (Oh well, I need something to keep my GPA from sagging too low anyway). I can't be sure what it's like for someone with no programming experience in the class, but most of the people I know are doing just fine.
I'm in it right now. I had no prior programming experience and I'm finding it pretty tough. The thing is though, if you can complete at least part of the assignments, you will still get an okay mark on them. If you are really patient and willing to spend lots of time on it you'll probably be fine. But if you aren't willing to spend hours on it and you know nothing about programming, I wouldn't reccomend it.
I wouldn't say they fail at life, lol. If you don't even have an interest in computers I suggest for you to just stay away from CS courses. If you do show interest, the course is pretty damned easy. No programming experience, A-.

as for easiness, i think it depends on how much you're willing to put effort into it.
