Travelling and work

edited November 2007 in General
Do jobs (I mean actual careers....like when we're done school) make their employees travel a lot?

I know that it depends on the type of job, but what about jobs where you spend the majority of your time in an office environment (of course, I am wondering about marketing/advertising types of jobs since thats what I want to get into).

Do a lot of jobs make you travel, or do you mostly stay put and do your work from your office?

well my uncle is a computer programmer... you'd think he sits in an office all day but they send him everywhere. Paris, England, Washington DC, bunch of other places, lol.

I know a lot of people, especially in marketing and sales who get sent all over the place (mostly in Canada though). It's not like on TV, where you go there and party but you do get to see other cities a lot, and they pay for all living and eating expenses. If your lucky, you can stay out there for a weekend at your own expense so its pretty cool. I've always wanted a job that would send me to cool places like that.

As a CELE officer I get to travel all over North America for buisness meetings with civilian communication companies. Occasionally I get to go overseas and I even have the opportunity to move over there all paid for by our Canadian Government :-D
