Most boring courses?

edited June 2008 in General
I think philosophy is the worst, never had a class where I was consistently
Lost
Bored
Tired
Sleeping

I remember this one chick would always actually be sleeping and go to sleep as soon as class started, anything philosophy related = snooze

I kind of like philosophy courses.
I get really bored in courses where I just don't care about the material or courses that I'm taking just because they're degree requirements and not because I actually want to take them.

    economics
fell asleep the most in it, haha

Stats kinda sucked, but the stuff I learned the very few times I was paying attention ended up being pretty useful. I think boredom depends on interest...I find most science classes (other than biology) pretty boring too

I really hate it when people describe a course as boring. People should be doing very well in the course if it is that boring. Afterall, boredom is the result of lack of stimulation and all courses have stimulants such as papers and tests. The only way you can be boring in a course is if the course is a total cake walk and you get an A in it!

BUEC232 isn't too bad for me as I actually have to pay attention to know WTF is going on. BUS251 though... I rarely went to lecture because they were both boring and useless, and whenever I did go, I usually fell alseep :zip:

You're assuming that if youre interested in a course you will do good. That isnt the case, I was having a conversation the other day in one of my classes about how funny it is when you like a course and you do worse than ones you dont like.

Also since when do you have papers and tests every 2-3 hour lecture, if us bored people did we wouldnt have a chance to sleep :shade:

Phil 120 worst class everrr. I didn't even bother. What a waste of time.

Really? I loved Phil 120...but I had Evan Tiffany as my prof and he was really interesting.

But Buec 232....I have never had such a problem remaining conscious in my life. Terrible.

    arch 131 with Mark...
it was torture man...and the exam is fuc*in' hard(he expects sssssoooooo much from students!!)

    bus 254 with Ho-Yee Low...

from what i remember, he straight-up read through the lecture slides which we got to print out before class anyway, and he didn't go in-depth with anything. plus the course is managerial accounting. 'nuff said.

I will agree with the PHIL but 100 instead of 120 being a very boring class. Although I wouldn't call it boring as much as I just extremely despised the material, the TAs, the professor and everything else related to it.

Every time I went to my STAT 270 class I had to have a coffee with me or else I would be fast asleep within the first 15 minutes. I just wasn't interested in it... but I can see how the material can be really useful.

    CMNS 230 with Pantic
BUS 251... but it's not MacDonald's fault... she's a good prof... just boring subject to teach

PHIL 100 with Jill McIntosh. Good prof, but I'm pretty sure I was incompatible with the material.
POL 100 with Stephen McBride. But then again I hate Politics.
ARCH 100 with Catherine D'andrea. Biggest mistake I made last semester.

hey i think my friend took that ARCh course. is that the one with 4 "quizzes"? yea he made it sound pretty bad

but i took chem 110 with keizer. im sure hes nice and all but hes just sooooooooooo boring.

ARCH-100 was not boring all the time; part about Aztecs and Maya was interesting.

i love phil courses, they're actually interesting unlike the pure fact-memorization of some other arts courses.

the boring classes i'd say would be many lower division cmpt courses, and probably the math/phys/chem ones too. Basically all the ones that teach the very basics that you already learnt in high school.

CMPT-275 is the most boring course I have been in so far.

CMNS 220 with Doris Baltruschat is horrible!
She flips through slides like lightning and doesn't send you the notes.

She is very disorganized and her t.a's are not the best.
The course content itself is and should be pretty interesting but she makes this course like rocket science!

Doris expects you to learn like she did back when she was in school. She's taking revenge on us!
beware if she's teaching again next semester... Drop the course if she's teaching!
