Anyone in surrey take transit to sfu?

edited November 2007 in General
I assume there must be so I ask you this.
I've taken distance for a while but i need to go to campus 3 times a week next semester ><
I usually drive to SFU but gas is killing me so.....
Say I park my car in whalley and catch gateway sky train..
how long does it take you to get to sfu from there.
if most of you take it from central, then tell me from there
thanks!

I know you can look it up on transit site, but it always takes me longer than what that site says so I'd like some personal experience responses.

burnaby campus :P lol

take me precisely 1hr from the time I get on the bus on Fraser Hwy and about 166th, while I've never timed it from the skytrains, I'd imagine something like 40mins from Surrey central should be enough

i've timed the duration of the train ride from 22nd station and it takes about 15 minutes from there to production way.. that should be about the same distance as from gateway and then another 15-20 minutes up bby mtn if the buses are on time.. but i'm quite sure you'll need to transfer at columbia from the expo to the millennium.. so make time for that too.. =)

It used to take me about 40 to 45 mins from King George Stn to the Burnaby Campus, if everything was on time. That includes the transfer time at Columbia from the Expo Line to the Millennium Line. The buses up the hill run pretty often, so as long as you leave Surrey with at least 45 mins to 1 hr before class, you should have no problem making it to school on time :)

Ya, it takes me about 45 minutes too. Thats actually not bad, considering it takes at least that long to drive from surrey through traffic anyways. The only time I don't like taking transit is when it's raining.
