The two different bus stops

edited November 2007 in General
I sometimes wonder why people line up at the stop near west mall center around the X:20 - X:40 period when all the busses just drive by or let like three people on.

Do they not know about the stop at cornerstone, or do they just not feel like walking up there? I feel sorry for people who catch the 145 too, when I wait at the 135 I love watching how long that line gets

Yeah, I'm always amazing by how much traffic that stop gets.

I feel sorry for anyone that takes the bus.

It looks very uncomfortable standing there with a billion people rubbing up against you.

People must get felt up a lot. I can only assume.

You're right, it's basically just a huge orgy. That's why everyone gets a U-pass. Bus time is FUN time.

Seriously though.. I've never experienced much of a line for the 135 at the top bus stop, but the 145 lineup can get pretty long there.

I've been in awkward situations when I'm sitting down on a jampacked bus, facing the aisle, and some person's crotch is directly in front of my eyes. what's even more disturbing is when the bus jerks back and forth sometimes so the person's hips gyrate towards my face...

yeah. i would definitely say it's an orgy in there.

I was sitting on the bus the other day, and there was a girl with some groceries sitting on the floor. The bus driver was being kinda aggressive with her driving, and on a left turn, alllll her groceries slid across the floor right into some lady's legs..kinda felt bad.

But yes, the 145 lineup by cornerstone gets huge sometimes. The people by WMX are probably hopeful that it will be fine, but obviously regret not making the walk when the bus goes by.

three consecutive 145s didnt even make it to the WMX loop today at around 1:20 ish, ended up taking a 144 to Sperling :(

Was that really easier than just walking up to the first stop by Cornerstone?
  • edited November 2007
I always walk up to the Cornerstone bus loop, even if I'm closer to the WMX stops. That way, I'm usually guaranteed to get on a bus. I usually take the 143 or the 144, sometimes the 135.

I dont trust the translink site, does anyone know if its quicker to get DT from campus by talking the 135, or the 145 then skytrain?

I think it depends on the time of day. You may want to just try it a few times and see which way works. Mark your start time when you get on the bus, and then when you get off, mark your end time. I would intuitively say the 135 might be a bit quicker because it stops very close to Harbour Centre, but there is the possibility of some bad traffic jams on Hastings, so I could be wrong.

I feel sorry for the people on the 145, because the bus is always so damn crowded. I live along Hastings, so the 135 is very easy for me. :) But when I lived over in East Vancouver I would sometimes do that trick - taking the 144 to Sperling and just going on from there.
