Hookups, casual dating, or relationships?

edited November 2007 in General
For all you SFU students, what's your preference? And what's the most prevalent with the students you socialize with?

That is a tough question because I know from experience that, whatever you have, you will want the opposite. I had a girlfriend at the beginning of college, a serious relationship. We broke it off about a month into school (couldn't deal with the whole long distance thing). The whole first month, I wanted to hook up with girls all the time but knew I couldn't. So when we broke up and I got my chance, I went to parties all the time and brough different girls home every night. It was fun for a few nights, but it really got old because none of the girls meant anything to me. I missed having someone I actually connected with emotionally. So I met this girl who I decided I wouldn't try and hook up with. She was really nice and I enjoyed hanging out with her. And now I have been dating that girl for over 2 years. So personally, I find a real relationship a bit more satisfying, having experienced all the options you listed.

Everyone I know is single, I'm in a relationship and we can never really do the same things anymore. I think i'd rather be single while in school since time is so valuable, but I'm not going to break something off now that I have it.

I socialize or just talk with women of any ethnicity; however, I prefer a relationship with a lady who has the same colour hair, skin, eyes as well as speaks the same native language as myself.

    为什么白男人喜欢中国女人或者印度女人或者非洲女人?这个情况我真的不明白。我看得见很多中国女人要跟白男人。我非常非常难过。

Just go with the flow. If you fall head over heels, they get in deep. If you're just in like, then just keep it casual. Don't go around trying to force things into your plans for the future; just let the future be.
