Planet Earth

edited October 2007 in General
I just nabbed the DVD box set of Planet Earth, and it's really fantastic. The cinematography is amazing. They've taken a few liberties with some of the footage, most notably with colorization (which I find a bit jarring) but overall it's just an amazing achievement. I'd reccomend picking it up. It's also available for download from bittorrent or elsewhere, but trust me - this is the sort of thing you want to see in the highest quality possible. It's the first thing I've seen that actually made me wish I had an HD movie player. Planet Earth in HD would be totally wankable, I'm telling you. :p

i have the series myself and me myself being in environmental science this dvd set definitely peaked my interest.

this DVD is great because of the quality, the footage that they catch, and they put it in terms that doesn't require extensive background knowledge to understand. it really puts into perspective the diversity and fragility of our trophic levels.

this is my favourite part of dvd1, and the one i learned the most from, although i learned from every single other sentence that the narrator spoke really from the vocab to the footage
