I went on an exchange last year, to France. Never going to do one again. I thought my French was fairly good but when I got there, the students at the university just made fun of me and my Quebecois French. I never wanted to do an exchange again nor do I ever want to go back to France.

Lol who cares if they made fun of your French? At least you know French and thats a lot better than others can say.

You should have just told them to go fuck themselves.

I went to Institut d'Études Politiques de Paris for two semesters, last fall and spring.

I did tell them to "va te faire enculer" and "tabernac coulise estee" but that doesn't have the same effect as it would in Quebec or Acadia.

    Va te faire foutre.

that, is apparently one of the most offensive french phrases when combined with some arm gesture which is kind of hard to explain here. and it's "authentic" according to my french friend at least haha.

i hear french students can be quite pompous towards foreign students in general. my friend was born in France and is fluent in French, grew up here in Vancouver, but had one year of high school in Nancy and they gave her a rough time too.. so don't feel too bad about it JayDub :) i'm sure your french is fine!
