the kid does have some problems. the sad thing is... i don't think his parents have taken him to any specialist on the issues. they might have, but who knows...
anyways, this kid can only comprehend FACTS. that's why he is so good at the spelling bee. If you ask him, "on a scale of 1 to 10, how well did you think you did?", he will not know how to answer b/c the scale is imaginary.
With autism, the kids are pretty much in their own little world, most of the time oblivous to the world around them. This kid is not like that, because he is talking to Jimmy (well, some what) & making eye contact. He just has no social skills.... poor kid. He probably has not had much interaction with other kids growing up, since he was home schooled.
