The Beat

edited September 2007 in General
Worst....station....ever.

I cant stand:
- all the commericals they play
- Nira
- Amy
- the morning show period. - it sucks so bad and they are NOT funny even tho they are trying so hard to be
- Johnny Stob or whatever the hell his name is
- crappy music that they play
- HOLLY CONWAY ....omy this girl is the most annoying person i have ever heard....someone please fire her asap and spare us all from hearing her voice and her not funny jokes

I hate this station and cant listen to it anymore.

The only good thing about this station is flip out and superfly. Thats it. Pretty sad.

We had the beat on at work one time. My co-worker and I kept a tally of how many times they played a particular JT song. In one eight hour shift, they played it twelve times. In one case, they played it, then three other songs, then that fucking some again.

    I hate the Beat.

I don't even listen to the radio when I drive to work cuz I know it's crappy. It takes me 50 min to drive there each day and all I listen to is my mp3s.

The Beat absolutely blows, I concur. If stuck with the radio, I usually listen to The Fox or News 1130 or that new 95.3 station (whatever it's called). Most of the time, however, I've got my MP3s going so if the station blows, it's not a big deal.

I concur. I can't stand Top-40 stations that keep the same "popular" songs on rotation over and over again. Of course, it tailors to the braindead assholes who enjoy listening to Rihanna singing "ELLA ELLA ELLA" 50 times a day because the song really relates to their current life situation.

Music in general is going down the shitter. Which is why, if I absolutely must listen to the radio, I listen to 103.5 or something, that generally plays music that's pre-90's, at least it does when I listen to it.

i dont feel the hate lol

i'll listen to it in the morning and from time to time when i drive, doesnt really bother me

and plus thats the nature of radio, they keep looping the same bunch of "popular" songs

I listen to Fairchild 96.1 (九六一). Every evening is Mandarin (國語) except for Sunday which is all day Cantonese (粵語).

Nira Aurora is fake and annoying. Kit Carson is cool, Nira just drags him down with her stupid ass shit.

I'd rather do Karen Khunkhun, although Nira does get bonus points for being a porn aficionado. I can't stand to listen to the Beat though...the only thing worse than the music is the DJs.

I guess Chinese talk-radio is okay, if that's your thing, but don't get me started on chinese music (mandarin or cantonese) because it sucks, and hasn't progressed since the 1980's.

I prefer interactive Chinese talk-tv on Channel M. As for music, Jay Chou (周杰伦).

As though you listen, speak, read and write Chinese.

Meh, as a chinese person, I find the chinese music industry to be a total joke, with a bunch of talentless yuppies being put out every year. The american music industry isn't much better, but at least there's some good stuff if you dig deep enough.

And yes, QMFM > The Beat

i'm with you on that.. i like the beat.. =) don't forget that some ppl call in to request the songs.. it isn't always the radio's fault for playing the songs over and over again.. blame it on the JT lovers and umbrella fanatics..

Under my umbrella ella ella eh eh eh

"Hi im Johnny Stob and im the gayest and most annoying person you will EVER hear on the radio and I will hit on Superfly and make him uncomfortable."

He bugs me so much. Holly Conway is the worst ever.

i don't know if it's just me, but the 1470 and 1390(?) the talk show hosts don't show as much.. ENTHUSIASM as, per say the Beat and the other radio stations. it seems to be a bit monotone for me. And yes i do understand what they're saying and everything.
