Hamas stages military overthrow of Fatah in Gaza

edited June 2007 in General
Anyone been following this story?

I have my own views, but I'm curious to see what people think of the Palestine-Israel issue in general, and this situation in particular.

Are you pro-Israel, pro-Palestine, or anti-both? (I think it's impossible to be pro-both.)

There is a great documentary called Promises:

"Several Jewish and Palestinian children are followed for three years and put in touch with each other, in this alternative look at the Jewish-Palestinian conflict. The three filmmakers followed a group of seven local children between 1995 and 1998. They all have a totally different background. These seven children tell their own story about growing up in Jerusalem."

Unfortunately I'm not sure what is going on right now.... Looks like I should read some news!

Basically, people are now talking about a "three-state solution" rather than a two-state one. The Gaza Strip would become Hamastan (or something,) run by Hamas as a brutal Islamic theocracy, the West Bank would become Fatahstan (or something,) which would be a secular, but arguably equally corrupt Arafat-style quasi-dictatorship. And Israel would stay Israel.

Personally, I think the whole thing is ridiculous.
