Favorite Beer

edited June 2007 in General
Just like wine... there have to be some beer drinkers that like to try different kinds!

If you like beer what is your favorite? do you have different kinds depending on the weather, event (hockey game, at a pub, at the beach etc.)??

Just curious, I hated beer then i started trying different kinds, lighter/darker....now i want to try different ones:smile:

My faves.... MGD - Playing Pool/Camping, Kilkenny when i feel like spicing it up  , and CORONA anytime!

*Do you drink draft when you go out? ---- HANGOVER CITY!

coronaaaa! and to support bc's beer, kokanee =) budweiser is the nastiest..tastes like watered down grossness. molson is pretty gross too..way too wheaty and barley tasting. i used to drink beer often, but then it made me gain a ton of weight :S now i only have it when i go clubbing or watch a game and i limit it to one bottle. ok fine, 2 bottles lol

    Kokanee.... Or Kokanee Gold.

The onlything better then that is my brothers extra-strong home brew! (and not because it tastes good)

Depends on whats goin on for me. Call me picky but I stick to my canadians when Im out with the boys or catchin a canucks game. But if its summer and I'm loungin by the beach with my girl then I gotta say corona hits the spot like no other. Any other imported beer just doesnt do the trick...gotta throw in a plug for budweiser as well... what i can say its THE KING OF BEERS

I ususally drink guiness, red strip, new castle, stella, or heineken.

I've heard blue moon is good too but they don't sell it in Vancouver.

Corona is definately nice but it's a little on the expensive side, and Tusker Lager from Kenya is really good, such a soothing beer, I only have those when its more of a special occasion though, and when I'm just loungin or partying with friends its Sleeman's.

Corona is just nasty (no offence to anyone who drinks it) compared with the European stuff. Heineken is all right and Stella is almost as good.

However, if you're an aficionado and willing to spend, buy beer made in the Czech Republic. It's a bit on the expensive side, but when you buy it, you'll know where the extra money goes. I've tried many beers from this country and will tell you that almost nothing in the world comes close.

I also tried this beer from Quebec (forget the name) and will tell you that beer from that place is the best in Canada, if not North America.

dude, I know what you mean about Hoegaarden. It's actually a dutch beer (Heineken's competition?). When I was in europe it seemed to be huge.

maybe it's because I had some kind of Hoegaarden lime-flavoured beer, but that was enough for me to say hell no!

haha I just wikipedia'd Hoegaarden, we were both wrong it's actually Belgian haha. The waitress at the place I had it told me that you had to like pour half of it out, swirl the remaining in the bottle and then pour the rest out. I remember it tasting kind of like lemon halls.

    lol, well close enough :teeth:

it has really low alcohol content too, at least I remember the bottle saying something like 2.9 or 3.0%. for something that tastes so crappy you'd think they'd compensate with making you get drunk faster...

I like micro-brew product because it tastes like real beer and doesn't have a whole lot of additive and preservatives that mass produced beer does have.

Eg. Shaftbury, Granville Island, Vancouver Island, Whistler, Sleemans

F yea for Sleemans Honey Gold.

    Champ.

I was at Boston Pizza and I saw a poster for Whistler Brewing Co. beer. It may be my bias towards Whistler talking, but it sure sounds good...anyone try it yet?
  • edited June 2007
I've had one too many Granville Island brews a many times before....
