Do you control your dreams?

When I can, I try to control my dreams. Instead of following the dream like a movie, I prefer to be consciously involved since it's so much fun to fly around and summon chi blasts in your hand and blow up walls. (That last part is what I've been trying to do in my dreams lately without success.)
The problem is that my unconscious mind can't keep up with my conscious thoughts. That's why when I'm flying the dream slows down and I don't seem to get anywhere. It's like "lag," and I think it's caused by the subconscious mechanisms in the dream having trouble generating places for me to go.
In another instance, if I'm talking with someone and I ask them a question, if I start waiting to find out what they're going to say the dream will often 'freeze' and crash. In other words, I awaken. I think the reason is that my unconscious has trouble answering situations called for within the dream.
Has anyone successfully controlled their dreams?

according to freud, no u can't controul dreams. dreams are the "unopened letter" the "royal road to the unconscious." they cannot be controuled by consciousness
Though I have had dreams where things that are happening in the real world while I'm sleeping (like my alarm beeping) occur in my dream as something else. Like the other night I had this crazy ass dream and my alarm went off but in my dream the noise was coming out as my voice so I tried to turn it off by pressing my nose...and then I woke up eventually ahhaha
Also, sometimes in my dream, I would know that I am dreaming & everything round me is not real.
I also been able to control certain things in my dreams, but its been a very long time since I have done that. Now I don't remember my dreams. Its really cool when you can control your dreams.
I have a recurring dream where something bad is happening, like a person is trying to attack me or rob me or something, and i try to scream for help....the "bad guy" backs off a bit because he/she thinks i am going to scream and draw attention to him/her, but when i try to scream, nothing comes out. Then the bad guy comes after me because he knows that i cant scream for help.
Its awful....i hate that one. :/
anyone have recurring dreams? i used to get recurring dreams when I was a kid. it was a really scary dream too...something about a vengeful spirit coming after me and it would follow me around the house. finally when I ran outside towards my garage, I would wake up. it always ended like that. very weird.
I know how to control my dreams, but I don't usually do it. My dreams are interesting and strange, so I just watch them like a movie. I will wake myself up if the dream is scary, but usually I "fall" back into the dream when I go to sleep again. It's definitely an interesting part of the mind!
You know what i love is flying dreams. I had my second flying dream last week, and i told my bf about it and he just looked at me like i was crazy. Have you guys had those?
i also heard (not sure of validity of this) but ppl who don't dream are more ambitious? any1 know of this
