I feel like this is like asking what is the difference between physics and math. Sure physics has a lot of math....at the end of the day though physics is physics and math is math. that is the difference.
In terms of papers and exams I imagine it would depend on the specific courses. Which ones are you considering?
Asia-Canada studies: more in-depth look at Asian migrants in Canada/North America at least at the 300/400, for 100/200 it's more general introductory course to Asian cultures
History: More emphasis on historical events, elements, causes, various actors inter-relations, interpretations etc.
Having said that I wish our Asia-Canada program can be expanded to the likes of UBC Asia Studies, I would love to take a few courses there
