Horrible professor - How to file a formal complaint?

edited September 2015 in General
I took a class this term and had that horrible professor that goes on tangents, talks about his sexual life non-stop, and really is a waste of money and time.
I was looking at SFU website on a way to file a formal complaint against him and could not find it, do you guys know how to?
Also, am I the only one who thinks that he should not be teaching?

  • Don't you do that on the end of semester course evaluation sheets?
  • I think those dont really do anything. All you can do is give suggestions.
  • This better not be about Evan McCuish cuz that guy is BOMB! One of the best TA's and he deserves his prof spot.

For your question though look into SFU Ombudsman/Ombudsperson or contact the Director of Crim?
  • And wait, he talks about his sexual life?!? Hahahahaha like what??
  • hahah bruh is talking about Bryce Westlake. I am so lucky I took the section with Dr. Morden instead... not only did this goof completely ruin our mid term exam by leaving half of the exams in the copy room upstairs... during his introduction as TA he babbled on about his keen interest child porn etc... no worries I"m sure he won't last long... in prison
  • ^HAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHA. But nah man I looked him up his research is in child porn and exploitation.
  • But nah what? Get The fuck outta here troll, coming to the TA's rescue shouldn't you be on campus brown nosing some more?
  • Try contacting the ombudsperson:
    Jay Soloman - Ombudsperson
    P: 778-782-4563
    E: jsolman@sfu.ca
  • @yungderp LOL why are you butthurt? I'm just stating the facts of the other side.
  • I have taught 103. I'm pretty sure this post was not referring to me as I have never discussed such topics in my class. However, when you search my name and 'Crim 103' on Google, this thread comes up. All that is shown is the title of the thread, which gives the impression that I am a 'horrible professor'. If the OP could edit or delete their post, it would be appreciated.
  • they aren't talking about you, evan. if you look above you can see the students admire you
  • I think that @EM1987 is concerned that when somebody googles the course number and his name, this thread shows up which gives a negative impression to the reader, regarless of weather or not @EM1987 taught the course.

  • no doubt. it only takes 30 seconds to skim this thread though and figure out the jist. any future crim major will have to take 103 eventually, regardless of whether Evan eventually ends up in charge of that specific section. i get it - also, I definitely wanted into the special topics course he's teaching right now. :(
  • Hey guys, I took the reference to "Crim 103" out of the thread. Hope that helps
